This is a photograph of one of the new shopping developments in Tuam. According to legend Tuam was founded by St. Jarlath. He was a monk who decided to start his own monastery. When he left his previous monastery, he decided to found a new one where a wheel of his chariot broke. Tuam was the place, and the town grew up around his monastery.
