Tuam town centre
This photograph was taken near the centre of Tuam, which is is County Galway's second town, with a population of about 6,000. It lies 20 miles north of Galway City. Rory O'Connor, (died 1198), the last High King of Ireland, lived in Tuam and during his reign in the 12th century, it was probably the capital of Ireland.
