Lake near Clonbur
This photograph of the northern end of Lough Corrib was taken a few miles from Clonbur village. According to legend the Firbolg assembled on a mountain summit just west of Clonbur before they confronted the Tuatha De Danann at the battle of Moytura. The Firbolg were ancient rulers of Ireland, but were deposed by the Tuatha De Danann in this battle.
