Lake at Menlo
This photograph of Lough Corrib was taken near Menlo. A canal known as "The Friar's Cut", runs alongside Menlo. It shortened the boat journey from Lough Corrib to Galway City, being shorter than a stretch of river it bypassed. It dates back to the 12th century and is regarded as the oldest canal in Ireland.
