Woodquay
This is a photograph of the River Corrib at Woodquay, which is where the river begins to run through the city. A bridge on the Galway to Clifden railway line ran across the pillars you see in the river. The railway opened in 1895 but closed down again in 1935. The bridge that spanned the Corrib at this point was removed in 1945.
