St. Augustines Well
This is a photograph of St. Augustines well in Lough Atalia. The well is at the edge of the lake on Lough Atalia Road. This is the only holy well in Galway City. The well is a place of pilgrimage on the last Sunday of July every year. Miracles have been attributed to the well. The first was a boy called Patrick Lynch who is supposed to have been cured here in 1673.
